Problem- dim display
Dell 5110 inspiron

Check - am check lvds cable but same problem and chenge screen but same problem am check bri signal 3v ok but screen on/off signal 0v
Solution-am chenge i/o controller ic my problem solve good

You can short 3 v from signal to on off and en. No need to replace I/o ..
Still you can't control bright

I have done this by short by a fuse for 3v to EN with on/off. But accidentally it shorted with 19v line. Thereafter its giving beeps only there is no display now. i replaced two mosfets for Graphics was shorted. But still have the same problem.
