Dell inspiron 15R no power (Dead)
Diag
Checked coils for short to ground component
All good = No Short to ground
Checked Vin. 19V = Present.
Vin to 3v/5v Regulator [RT8205] = Present.
Vreg 3v/5v = Not Present means RT8205 bad
NO RT8205 Availble. Substitute TPS51125
Replaced RT8205 regulator with TPS51125
Laptop Power Up But No Display
Checked PLT RST in mini card Connector
NOT Present.
Checked +Vccp = Present
SO either ICH or Clock Gen is Bad
Checked Clock Gen power = Present
No Oscillator to test frequency in 25Mhz Crystal
But tried my luck Replacing it
Then Boom. PLT_RST Goes High!
All Problem Solved.
